In my previous post, I mentioned the Etude House Line Nuance Duo here.
I love practical items such as an eyeliner and shadow in a single pen. It saves space, great for travel (of course this is one of my favourite criteria. If I can’t take with me, how can I ever play with it?), and generally doesn’t require brushes (less brush to pack. Even better!).
When I found this shadow liner duo from Etude House last year, I thought I should give it a try as the brown shadow swatches BEAUTIFULLY, I tell you. So creamy and the shimmer is just perfect – not too much nor too little. And eyeliner is dark olive green with very some glitter and again, my heart has a weak spot for olive green shade.
The liner (on the left as picture above) is a normal twist up liner, and the shadow is packed in the little cylinder. When you twist open the cylinder, the eyeshadow is packed on the sponge tip applicator.
The liner shade is very similar to the Revlon Colorstay Smoky Shadow Stick, 205 Atomic Nucléaire (mentioned here). Told you I fall for olive green… :p The only difference being that the Revlon ones has bigger gold glitter (you can see it from picture).
With single swipe, the Etude House swatches smoothly on my arm and the colour is so intense. Oh so beautiful my heart nearly melted. In comparison, I have to swipe 2-3 times with the Revlon shadow stick for the same intensity to show up. The Revlon one is drier.
If there’s a slide, the Etude House eyeshadow will happily play on it
As beautiful as it is, one very very bad point about the Etude House is that it slides easily!! With my oily lids it creases after just 2 hours. Boo!! I couldn’t use this for a long time due to how easy it creases. That was before I found my holy grail primer –> NARS Smudge Proof Eyeshadow Base.
Anyway, recently I bought the MUFE Aqua Seal, hoping that it would “seal” in the eyeshadow to prevent creasing. To further strengthen the staying power, I even use MAC Paintpot in Painterly as a base (which sadly doesn’t work as primer for me), just to see if sliding is going to be prevented.
For both days I tried using Aqua Seal on top of this eyeshadow:(1) Pat a drop of Aqua Seal with fingers on both eyelids (2) Dampen a brush with Aqua Seal and pat on eye lid, 1 drop for each lid.
Guess what… it STILL creases!!!! Whaaa???
Next time I am going back to using my NARS primer and see if this shadow still slides on me. If it does, I am going to give it to the next person with dry lids!!! My NARS hasn’t disappoint me so far. My eyeshadows stay put after more than 10 hours (work, heat, cooking, bathing children etc etc). The eyes makeup look as fresh as it is in the morning.
Coincidentally, I have an eyeliner pencil from Etude House which also happily slides off my lids and before noon time I have become a panda. I don’t know if it’s the formula or my eyes just refuse to love Etude House… I wanna love you, Etude House! The colours are so beautiful please let me love you! 🙂
🙂 🙂 🙂 🙂 🙂 Creamy texture, beautiful colour, 2-in-1 product, light weight
